Berry & Apple Fruit Leather

Berry & Apple Fruit Leather

  • Makes: 1 pan
  • Prep: 30 min
  • Total: about 9 hours
Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen mixed berries
  • 1 small Granny Smith apple
  • 2 tablespoons honey or sugar
Directions
  1. Chop the apples into chunks, including the peel, core and seeds. Place in a small pot. Add the berries and honey or sugar and bring to a boil over medium-high. Reduce the heat to low, cover and simmer very gently for about 20 minutes or until the apples are totally soft. Let cool to room temperature, then mash with a potato masher.
  2. Push the fruit mixture through a sieve to strain out the fibrous bits. (Discard the fibrous bits.)
  3. Line the baking pan of Vida by PADERNO Air Fryer Toaster Oven with parchment paper. Spread the fruit mixture in an even layer over the pan.
  4. Dehydrate at 120F for 7 to 8 hours or until the centre of the fruit leather is dry and not tacky. Cool completely.
  5. Separate the fruit leather from the parchment paper, then flip it over, back onto the parchment paper and roll up into a cylinder. Wrap the cylinder in plastic wrap. Slice to serve.
